Shin Tae Yong Calls Up 3 New Players for the Indonesian National Team to Face Brunei

Coach Shin Tae Yong has called up three new players for the upcoming match between the Indonesian National Team and Brunei Darussalam in the playoff stage of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Indonesian National Team is set to play two matches against Brunei in this playoff round. The first leg of Indonesia vs. Brunei will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Thursday (October 12), while the second leg will be held at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium on Tuesday (October 17).

In preparation for these two matches, coach Shin Tae Yong found it necessary to call up three new players: Fachruddin Aryanto (Madura United), Dzaky Asraf (PSM Makassar), and Hokky Caraka (PSS Sleman).

The inclusion of these three players was not without reason, as several players initially called up in the first roster suffered injuries, most notably Jordi Amat and Yance Sayuri.

Madura United defender Fachruddin Aryanto will step in for Johor Darul Ta'zim player Jordi Amat, while Dzaky Asraf will replace his teammate Yance Sayuri. Meanwhile, Hokky Caraka has been added to bolster the attacking force of the Garuda Squad.

The absence of Jordi Amat and Yance Sayuri adds to the list of prominent players who will not be participating in this particular moment, including Ivar Jenner and Stefani Lilipaly.

In the case of Ivar Jenner, the Jong Utrecht player was not called up due to an injury sustained while representing his club.

Originally, the Indonesia vs. Brunei duel was scheduled to take place at the Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang. However, due to forest and land fires (karhutla) in parts of South Sumatra Province, the venue had to be relocated to SUGBK in Senayan, Jakarta.
